PREP ROUNDUP : Calvary Chapel Dominates Four-Way Wrestling Meet

Calvary Chapel, ranked No. 1 in the state, rolled through a four-way nonleague wrestling meet Wednesday.
The Eagles beat fourth-ranked Laguna Hills, 47-18, fifth-ranked El Modena, 42-18 and Brea-Olinda, 57-9.
Led by Josh Holiday (152 pounds), Ed Mosley (160), Mike Aquirre (171) and Joe Calavitta (130), Calvary Chapel either scored a pin or technical fall in every match.
“They (the Eagles) were awesome,” Laguna Hills Coach Cliff Jarme said. “Mosley is in a league all of its own.”
In the match between Laguna Hills and El Modena, Jeff Greco (140) and Mike Greco (145) scored technical falls in Laguna Hills’ 43-16 victory over El Modena. Laguna Hills’ Casey Elliott (152) won a tight match against Dan Brown, 3-0, and Laguna Hills heavyweight Mark Zolikoff, who was battling the flu, pinned David Sauedo in 2:54.
El Modena’s Milo Ventimiglia, ranked No. 1 in the county at 119 pounds, had two pins in three matches.
In nonleague girls’ soccer:
Capistrano Valley Christian 6, St. Margaret’s 0--Danielle Reedy scored four goals as Capistrano Valley Christian (3-1) cruised past St. Margaret’s (0-3). Rachel Beardslee and Matia Mitchell combined for the shutout.
Esperanza 1, Lakewood 0--Tammy Lyon scored in the second half and Chris Gehrls had her third shutout for Esperanza (5-1-2).
Huntington Beach 2, Corona del Mar 1--Katy Roper and Maria Paciulli each scored a goal and Kim Watts recorded 11 saves for Huntington Beach.
Orange Lutheran 2, Bolsa Grande 0--Brooke Parkinson and Amy Ward each scored and Danyelle Montgomery had seven saves for host Orange Lutheran (3-1).
