Anton Leads Way for USC Women

NACOGDOCHES, Tex. — Jody Anton scored 20 points and Karleen Shields added 16 Sunday, leading the 24th-ranked USC women’s basketball team past Stephen F. Austin, 81-76.
USC (5-1) trailed, 32-30, at halftime.
Anton made an 18-footer with 9:23 left to give USC the lead for good. Stephen F. Austin (3-3) pulled to 74-73 with 3:22 left on a layup by Latonio Bonnett, but came no closer.
Bonnett finished with a team-high 18 points and eight rebounds.
