LOS ANGELES : Woman Prevented From Jumping Off Overpass

A woman was prevented from jumping onto the eastbound Santa Monica Freeway in the Mid-City area Friday afternoon, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
Firefighters sent to the Crenshaw Boulevard freeway overpass at about 12:25 p.m. grabbed the woman and pulled her to safety, Bob Collis said.
The woman, in her 30s, was taken into custody by the California Highway Patrol and held for observation.
