Pacific Scientific Co.: The company on Thursday declared a 2-for-1 stock split, effective Dec. 16, and doubled its dividend after the split to 3 cents.
The company said the split will increase its total outstanding common shares to 11 million.
Pacific Scientific’s stock has risen steadily since the company said in October that its Solium compact fluorescent light bulbs could add as much as $100 million in revenue in the next two years. The company markets the Solium bulbs as lasting as long as five years and using only 15% of the electricity of most incandescent bulbs.
The company, based in Newport Beach, now derives most of its revenue from sales of outdoor lighting controls, safety equipment and products for electric utilities.
