RETAILING
PriceCostco to End Mexican Joint Venture: The membership warehouse club retailer said it will pull out of its 3-year-old venture with Controladora Comercial Mexicana. The two companies announced a preliminary agreement under which Kirtland, Wash.-based PriceCostco will sell its 50% stake in Price Club de Mexico to Comercial Mexicana or to a company chosen by Comercial Mexicana. The move was prompted by the decision, announced in July, to split the U.S. retailer into two companies, PriceCostco and Price Enterprises Inc., PriceCostco Chief Financial Officer Richard Galanti said. Most of Price Enterprise’s assets are to be real estate holdings and an electronic catalogue system. There are 10 Price Club stores in Mexico.
