Iwerks Entertainment Inc., a Burbank developer of special-format movie theaters and virtual reality attractions, has named Roy A. Wright as its chief operating officer.

Wright most recently was president and chief executive of RDI Computer Corp., a supplier of portable computer workstations. He has held senior management positions with several other high-technology companies.

Iwerks also said that Deborah B. Miao has resigned as chief financial officer. G. Edward Smith, a financial consultant, will join the company as executive vice president and interim chief financial officer.
