Works, from Savanna High, was a standout player last season. She averaged 20 points and nine rebounds and was a co-most valuable player in the Orange Empire Conference. But she already has served notice this season that she plans to improve on her numbers of a year ago. This season, she is averaging 30 points and 13 rebounds. She had 28 points and 16 rebounds in victory over Grossmont, then scored 37 points and added 14 rebounds in a victory over Moorpark.
