SANTA BARBARA — The Master’s College and Westmont have been in this situation before. For the fifth time in six seasons, the teams will meet in the final of the National Assn. of Intercollegiate Athletics Far West Regional soccer tournament.
The winner of today’s 1:30 p.m. match at Westmont advances to the NAIA Division I national finals at Mobile, Ala., later this month.
Westmont is ranked third and Master’s 17th in the NAIA poll. Earlier this season, Westmont defeated Master’s, 3-0.
The Master’s has played only twice since Oct. 22. The Mustangs defeated Christian Heritage, 6-0, to gain a berth the regional final, and played a scoreless tie with Cal State Northridge.
