Here are the top 10 hotels that offer their guests the greatest number of unusual amenities and services, according to Innkeeping World, a newsletter for hotel executives. The ranking with examples of each hotel’s amenities, is issued every five years.
* The Peninsula, Hong Kong: A pull-out tray built into the telephone has a world time clock set to the guest’s home time.
* The Regent, Hong Kong: Guests taking the Regent’s limo from the airport to the hotel may order a meal from the menu that’s in a seat pocket. Upon checking in, guests find a table set in their room and their repast ready to be served.
* Four Seasons, London: In-room tailoring service is offered by Saville Row master tailors.
* Hotel Europe, Zurich: A folding seat is provided in the showers.
* Imperial Hotel, Tokyo: A sound-proof music room is available for musician guests.
* Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, Hamburg: A rosewood box in the dining room holds a dozen pairs of reading glasses of various strengths for diners who forget their own.
* The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago: An “International Guest Program” provides a taste of home, such as espresso and biscotti for Italian visitors.
