FCC Receives PCS Applications: About 200 companies, ranging from AT&T; and Pacific Telesis to a Los Angeles parking lot operator, met the deadline to register with the Federal Communications Commission for a multibillion-dollar auction of licenses for advanced wireless services. No further details were immediately available on the applicants, who are seeking to qualify for the Dec. 5 auction of licenses to offer wireless personal communications services. The FCC said it plans to release the names of all applicants sometime next week.
