Vandals Puncture Tires on 15 Vehicles

Vandals punctured the tires on 15 cars in the Las Casitas neighborhood of Thousand Oaks early Thursday, authorities said.

Nine cars parked alongside the Las Casitas condominium complex and six more by the adjacent Mirabella Apartment complex had tires slashed, Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said. Both complexes are on Hillcrest Drive.

Las Casitas residents started a Neighborhood Watch group earlier this year and have worked with police for two years to curtail crime. Sheriff’s officials said they hoped that witnesses to the vandalism would come forward.

The department, through the Ventura County Crime Stoppers program, is offering up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the vandal or vandals.
