The city of Burbank is accepting applications from residents interested in serving on the newly formed Heritage Commission.
The commission, which will be appointed by the City Council, will advise the council on how to preserve Burbank’s historic places and structures. The five-member panel will be composed of two members from the business community, two with experience in preservation efforts and one from the general community.
Two commissioners will be appointed to two-year terms and the other three will serve four-year terms. Future appointees will all serve four-year terms.
Members will not be paid for their service, and members are required to live in the city and are prohibited from serving on any other city board, commission or committee at the same time.
Applications are available in the city clerk’s office at City Hall, 275 E. Olive Ave. The deadline for submitting applications to the clerk is Nov. 1. Appointments will be made at the Nov. 8 City Council meeting.
