Marcy Crouch, a three-sport standout from Marina High, orally committed to play softball at Stanford, Marina girls’ volleyball Coach Jason Bilbruck said Wednesday.
As a junior pitcher last season, Crouch, twice a Times All-Orange County selection, led the Vikings to the Southern Section Division I championship. She pitched a one-hitter and struck out 10 in the Vikings’ 2-0 victory over Foothill in the title game. Crouch finished last season with a 22-2 record, 0.24 earned-run average, and she hit .337.
Crouch is also a standout in soccer and volleyball. Last soccer season, she was the defensive co-player of the year in the Sunset League and she had two assists in Marina’s 3-0 victory over Palos Verdes Peninsula in the Division I championship game. The Vikings finished 28-0-1.
In volleyball, Crouch helped Marina to a fast start and a county top-10 ranking early this season. She was named to the all-tournament team of the Orange County Championships.
