In the Valley Pac-8 Conference:
Van Nuys 37, Poly 23--Quarterback Chris Byfield completed 11 of 19 passes for 160 yards and three touchdowns to lead Van Nuys at Poly.
John McPherson, filling in for injured Larry Reed, rushed for 104 yards in 15 carries and caught a 17-yard touchdown pass for Van Nuys (5-1, 3-0).
Ricardo Gamboa completed 12 of 25 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns for Poly (2-4, 2-1).
Reed, who rushed for 22 yards in six carries, was carried off the field by teammates after a second-quarter injury. He did not return.
