PREP EXTRA / SATURDAY FOOTBALL PULLOUT : McGraw Leads Laguna Hills’ Rout of Dana Hills

Brendan McGraw rushed for 254 yards in 26 carries and scored four touchdowns, including a 32-yard touchdown catch, to lead Laguna Hills to a 38-3 victory over Dana Hills Friday night at Dana Hills High School.

McGraw, who is tied for the county lead with Los Amigos’ Greg Fausto with 18 touchdowns, scored on runs of 78, 40 and one yard before leaving the game after the third quarter. Not bad for a guy who was running behind a patchwork offensive line.

“We’re a bit banged up and we have three guys on the offensive line who have been hurt and would have been playing tonight,” said Laguna Hills Coach Steve Bresnahan.

“But Brendan McGraw is a good running back and we feel that if we can just hold the blocks for a second that every time he touches the ball, something good is going to happen,” Bresnahan said.

On Laguna Hills’ second play from scrimmage, McGraw ran off tackle 78 yards untouched for the Hawks’ first score.

On the third play of the next possession, McGraw ran 40 yards for the Hawks’ second touchdown.
