SOUTHERN SECTION FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Crescenta Valley Remains Unbeaten
Running back Chris Hedrick scored three touchdowns, two rushing and one receiving, and quarterback John Watts threw three touchdown passes as Crescenta Valley High remained unbeaten with a 33-28 victory over Burroughs in a nonleague game Friday night at Glendale High.
Hedrick finished with 87 yards in 27 carries. Watts completed six of nine passes for 105 yards.
The Falcons (5-0) were led on defense by linebacker Rocky Barbaro, who had two interceptions that set up two touchdowns. Barbaro also scored on a 49-yard pass reception from Watts.
Crescenta Valley fought off a comeback by Burroughs (2-3). The Indians mounted a 13-play, 80-yard drive early in the second quarter and a 13-play, 63-yard drive early in the third quarter that switched the momentum after Crescenta Valley had taken a 19-0 lead.
Burroughs quarterback Mike Barrett completed 11 of 22 for 146 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions.
