Trial Highlights
A look at some of the key events in the murder trial of O.J. Simpson on Thursday:
* Summary: Superior Court Judge Lance A. Ito gave the final group of prospective jurors detailed questionnaires probing their views on an array of topics that might be relevant to the trial. A total of 304 prospective jurors have completed the documents and are expected to begin undergoing questioning by Ito and the lawyers starting Oct. 12.
* Court action: A defense motion opposing sequestration of the jury was unsealed. In it, Simpson’s lawyers cite the “folklore that a sequestered jury is a convicting jury.”
* Outside the court: Scores of television crews that have set up outside the Criminal Courts Building temporarily pulled out of their encampments. No more hearings in the Simpson case are scheduled until Wednesday.
