Sleazy Gold

The first thing I turn to in the Thursday Times is Jonathan Gold’s Counter Intelligence article. Do not , as suggested by Nile Young’s letter, have him upgrade the places he reviews. The sleazier the better! It’s the hole-in-the-wall restaurants that offer the most flavorful, most interesting food. Let those interested in the homogenized food of restaurant row go to the safe, trendy places in Beverly Hills. The rest of us will be very happy following Mr. Gold’s lead, thank you.
