Los Alamitos 15, Glendale 4--Senior Eric Ploessel scored six goals for host Los Alamitos (1-0).
Brea-Olinda 16, La Habra 7--Eric Matthews and Tad Murphy each scored two goals for Brea-Olinda (1-0), ranked No. 5 in the county and No. 1 in Division VI. Dan and Dave Ploog each scored two for La Habra (3-3), ranked No. 10 in Division II.
Estancia 10, Valencia 5--Eric Wayman and Joe Huang each scored three goals and Mark Stephens had 11 saves for host Estancia (1-0).
Canyon 18, Los Amigos 6--Jeff Hamilton had eight goals to lead host Canyon (1-0).
Tustin 10, Esperanza 8--Marshall Bauernfiend and Jim Lowe each had three goals to lead host Tustin (2-0), which is unranked, past No. 10 Esperanza (1-1). Tustin outscored Esperanza 6-3 in the second half.
Santa Ana 15, Pacifica 10--Edgar Perez scored six goals and Jose Zuniga had three for host Santa Ana (2-0).
