PREP ROUNDUP : Laguna Beach Wins in Girls’ Tennis

Michelle Bray and Amanda Hastings-Phillips swept at singles and Laguna Beach, the top-ranked team in Orange County, narrowly beat unranked Woodbridge in girls’ tennis Monday.
The teams tied, 9-9 in games, and Laguna Beach won on games, 75-72.
Bray won, 6-4, 6-4, 6-0, and Hastings-Phillips won, 6-4, 6-0, 6-3, for the Artists.
In other nonleague matches:
Brea-Olinda 11, La Quinta 7--Kristin Schmachtenberg and Meghan Walsh swept at doubles, 7-5, 6-3, 6-0, for visiting Brea (2-1). Lynne Wu swept at singles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, for La Quinta (0-1).
Western 11, Loara 7--Debbie Jethva swept at singles, 6-4, 6-3, 6-1, for visiting Western (2-1).
Dana Hills 10, Irvine 8--Katie Tierney and Lauren Buchner swept at doubles, 6-4, 6-0, 6-1, for host Dana Hills (2-0), the ninth-ranked team in Orange County. Irvine is 1-1.
