LAGUNA BEACH : Candidates Forum to Be Held Tonight
- Share via
Residents will have an opportunity to question City Council candidates during a forum at City Hall tonight.
School board and water district candidates will also introduce themselves at the forum, which starts at 7:30.
Sponsored by Village Laguna, one of the city’s oldest political action committees, the forum will be televised at a later date.
Village Laguna President Gary Jenkins said 10 candidates were invited to attend, regardless of whether they are seeking the group’s endorsement. About half of them had confirmed as of Monday, he said.
The forum will be televised later on Dimension Cable, Channel 31. However, Jenkins said the exact date has not been set.
Three council terms will expire this year. Mayor Ann Christoph is the only incumbent seeking reelection.
Village Laguna was formed in 1971 to preserve the city’s village atmosphere and fight development of high-rise buildings along the city’s coast.
The forum will be held in council chambers at 505 Forest Ave.
