Sheriff’s deputies have released a composite drawing to help snare an armed robber who also allegedly sexually assaulted two Camarillo teen-agers. According to witness accounts, the rapist is a white male 18 to 23 years old; 6 feet, 1 inch tall; who weighs about 200 pounds and was wearing a long-sleeved green shirt, dark baggy trousers and black combat boots.
The manhunt, directed by Sgt. John Fitzgerald of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, included 20 to 30 law officers who were to canvass the Camarillo area Wednesday night.
Fitzgerald said the detail included detectives and others from offices throughout the county, but deputies on regular patrol duties were not diverted.
The gunman, who wore a ski mask, attacked the 17- and 19-year-old clerks after taking about $100 from the cash register at a yogurt shop Monday night in Camarillo, deputies said.
