VILLA PARK : Couple Displaced by Fire in Home
- Share via
Two people were displaced Monday after an attic fire that injured two firefighters the day before.
The fire, believed sparked by an electrical problem, caused an estimated $400,000 in damage to a two-story house in the 18000 block of James Road, said Orange County Fire Department spokeswoman Maria Sabol.
An Orange city firefighter suffered a neck injury from debris falling from the roof and attic, and a county firefighter suffered a scratch on the eye, Sabol said. Both were treated and released from local hospitals.
The fire, reported at 2:44 p.m. Sunday, was under control 40 minutes later.
The couple living in the home were inside at the time of the fire but unaware of it until neighbors spotted smoke, Sabol said.
