Datum Inc.: The Anaheim manufacturer of frequency products and timing instrumentation said its second-quarter profit showed improvement, rising to $343,000, or 13 cents a share, from $45,000, or 2 cents a share, for the same period last year. Sales gained 26% to $7.8 million from $6.2 million. For the six months ended June 30, profit totaled $568,000, or 22 cents a share, compared with $53,000, or 2 cents a share, for the comparable 1993 period. Six-month sales were up 28% to $15.3 million from $12 million.
