Unemployment Statistics Due: The county’s June unemployment rate is expected to be released Friday. The rate, which stood at 7.1% in June, 1993, has been falling in recent months and reached a 29-month low of 5.3% in May. But analysts expect the jobless numbers to rise, because rates typically jump in June as students and teachers seek summer work. For example, according to previously published figures, the Los Angeles County rate for June rose to 10.1% from May’s 9.7%.
