* Buff windows to a shine with a clean blackboard eraser, which, rubbed over a dry, clean window, will remove lingering smudges.
* Remove ballpoint ink stains from fabric with hair spray and a dab of liquid dish detergent. Rinse with cold water and launder.
* Perk up outdoor parties with an assortment of odd tables that gain uniformity with floor-length coverings made from old sheets, quilts or fabric remnants in complementary colors.
* Spray poison-ivy plants with a mix of two gallons of soapy water and three pounds salt. Repeat a few times until plants die.
