‘Twilight’ and Tennis for the Holiday
Fireworks, tennis and a classic TV series marathon kick off the Fourth of July weekend.
On Sunday, KTLA-TV begins its 30-episode bonanza of Rod Serling’s “The Twilight Zone” at2 p.m. on Channel 5.
Cable’s Arts & Entertainment network offers “Fireworks! With George Plimpton,” a definitive look at the history of fireworks, Sunday at 5 and 9 p.m.
Johnny Cash, Barbara Mandrell, the Oak Ridge Boys, Mel Tillis, comic Yakov Smirnoff and Japanese fiddler Shoji Tabuchi head the guest list for the variety special “Star Spangled Branson,” Sunday at 9 p.m. on the Family Channel.
In sports, NBC will televise the women’s singles final at Wimbledon today at 8 a.m. on Channels 4, 36 and 39. The men’s final will be played Sunday at 8 a.m. on the same stations.
