WORLD CUP USA ’94 / THE FIRST ROUND : SPOTLIGHT : SHE VOTES NO

Some folks just don’t like the game. Heather Lanier of Kissimmee, Fla., near Orlando, told the Orlando Sentinel the World Cup hasn’t made her a soccer fan.

“I don’t think anything is hot about soccer. I am so sick of hearing about it,” she said. “I hate it. It will never be as big as football or basketball in America because it’s some stupid foreign sport. Every time I watch it, I fall asleep.”
