TUSTIN — Catheter maker Luther Medical Products Inc. on Thursday said that it has sold one of its subsidiaries to Bio-logic Systems Corp. of Mundelein, Ill. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Luther, which has been struggling to create new distribution channels for its catheters, said the sale of Neuro Diagnostics Inc. is outside of the company’s core business.
The subsidiary sells equipment to the neurology and rehabilitation market.
“It doesn’t fit, and we’re really not prepared to develop it,” spokeswoman Rivian Bell said. Bio-logic Systems, on the other hand, is in a compatible business with Neuro Diagnostics, that is designing and marketing computerized medical electrodiagnostic equipment.
