ANAHEIM : 43 Arrested in 2-Day Prostitution Sweep
Police arrested 43 people on prostitution-related charges on Beach Boulevard over the weekend.
In what police described as an effort to “target high problem areas as identified by citizens in the community,” female police officers posing as prostitutes arrested 35 men for soliciting on Friday and Saturday between Lincoln Avenue and Ball Road.
In addition, eight women were arrested in the same area for soliciting for prostitution. Two men were arrested on charges of selling drugs and violation of a warrant.
All those arrested had their cars towed and impounded, according to police.
Police said the arrests were designed to deal with “the growing prostitution problem that has been developing in that area.”
