Frazier Quits as CSUN Track Coach
John Frazier has resigned as an assistant track coach at Cal State Northridge because he wants more time to devote to his equity recruitment program position at the school and to his upcoming marriage.
Frazier, 31, coached All-American javelin throwers Garrett Noel and Kristin Dunn during his three-year stint at Northridge.
Delphia Moore of Orange High and Jamie Brown of Moreno Valley Canyon Springs have signed track and field letters of intent with Cal State Northridge.
Moore finished third in the girls’ 300-meter low hurdles in the Southern Section Division II championships last month.
Brown has personal bests of 25.22 in the 200 meters and 57.8 in the 400.
Chadd Aldrich, one of the mainstays on the Thousand Oaks High boys’ cross-country team for the past two years, has signed a letter of intent with Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.
The first of six weekly all-comers meets will be held at Birmingham High tonight.
Basketball
Ted Cotti has resigned as boys’ basketball coach at Villanova Prep High, citing “philosophical differences” with the school’s administration.
Cotti led the Wildcats to a 48-53 record in five seasons.
