GARDEN GROVE — A 16-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder shortly after he allegedly fired more than 20 rounds into a passing car, wounding two passengers, police said Tuesday.
Police said the shooting occurred as the two victims, both teen-age girls, were leaving a party near Laramore Lane and Lewis Street just before midnight Monday. Authorities said the shooting was gang-related.
The girls were treated at Garden Grove Hospital and Medical Center. One girl was shot in the left leg and the other was wounded in the back.
Police said they found two weapons, an assault rifle and a revolver, believed to have been used during the shooting. The teen likely will be tried as a juvenile, they said.
