GLENDALE : Man Denies Guilt in Spousal Assault Case
A man who allegedly waved an 11-inch fillet knife at his wife and threatened to kill her just as “O.J. Simpson did to his wife” pleaded not guilty to one misdemeanor count of assault, police said.
Seppo Gujani Virtanen, 46, who was held in Glendale City Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail, entered his plea Monday. He was arrested late Sunday at his Glendale home on North Columbus Avenue after his wife called police to report the confrontation.
Police confiscated the knife that Virtanen allegedly threatened his wife with.
Police said Virtanen was drunk and struck his wife several times in the face, yelling, “I’m going to kill you. I’m going to cut your throat just like O.J. Simpson did to his wife.”
