Rockwell: The Seal Beach firm said it won a five-year, $10.5-million contract to do engineering work for the Navy’s satellite communication systems.
Collins International Service Co., a division of Rockwell based in Richardson, Tex., will provide engineers to install and maintain technology for the Navy’s super-high frequency satellite communication (SATCOM) systems.
SATCOM is the Navy’s primary means of communication with ships, said Jim Logbeck, Rockwell’s program manager. More than 40 ships deploy the system today as opposed to four ships a decade ago.
