Nixon Library Events to Mark D-Day

YORBA LINDA — The Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace will hold two events Monday to mark the 50th anniversary of D-day.
The El Toro Memorial Park Committee will hold an anniversary program at the library’s theater at 11 a.m. The program will include a keynote address by Leland Bellot, a history professor at Cal State Fullerton, and music from John Huntington.
Any D-day invasion veterans who are planning to attend the event are asked to call (714) 951-9102.
The committee is comprised of representatives from local chapters of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Jewish War Veterans of the USA, National Society of the American Revolution and the Orange County Cemetery District.

At 7 p.m. Monday, the library will present a forum on foreign policy and world trade. The event is sponsored by the National Policy Forum: A Republican Center for the Exchange of Ideas.
U.S. Rep. Christopher Cox (R-Newport Beach) will join former U.S. Ambassador to Mexico John Gavin, former U.S. Ambassador to Ireland Peter Dailey and others in the discussion with members of the public, who are invited to voice their ideas.
