WORLD IN BRIEF : SCOTLAND : 29 Killed as British Helicopter Crashes

Twenty-nine people, including top Northern Ireland undercover police fighting the IRA, were killed when the helicopter flying them to a security conference crashed in thick fog on a remote Scottish headland. A spokesman for the Royal Air Force said there were no survivors after the twin-propeller Chinook crashed on a flight from Belfast to the conference at an army base in the Scottish city of Inverness. Police investigators discounted sabotage as the cause for the crash.
