Four people were injured Tuesday in a five-car pileup on the northbound Santa Ana Freeway near Jamboree Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
At 3:15 p.m., traffic slowed suddenly, and a 1977 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by a 40-year-old San Fernando woman hit the vehicle in front, causing a chain reaction of crashes, the CHP said.
Four people were taken to hospitals with minor to major injuries. Several had to be freed with machinery. None of the drivers was cited by officers.
The collision caused a 45-minute SigAlert in the northbound lanes.
