The two candidates for Ventura County superintendent of schools will square off in a debate tonight in Camarillo.
Ventura County Schools Supt. Charles Weis, who was appointed to the job in January, 1993, will face challenger Dan Flynn, who serves as principal of Ventura County’s schools for juvenile offenders.
The two candidates are running in the June 7 election.
Sponsored by the League of Women Voters and the Ventura County Federation of School Employees, the debate will focus on issues of concern to employees of the county superintendent’s office.
The debate is open to the public and will be followed by a question-and-answer session. The event begins at 6 p.m. in the James F. Cowan Conference Center, 550 Airport Way, at the Camarillo Airport.
