Quake Aid Relocates to Service Center
The last disaster application center that opened after the Northridge quake closed last weekend and the operation was transferred to an earthquake service center in Hollywood.
The service center opened Monday at 6385 Hollywood Blvd. It will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Sundays.
At the peak of the emergency following the Jan. 17 quake, state and federal disaster relief officials operated 21 disaster application centers.
To date 126,923 people have registered for aid at the centers, while another 402,121 filed applications through the telephone registration line.
