Glenfed Sells Florida Branches: Glendale Federal Bank said it agreed to sell its 60 Florida branches for $243.5 million to Barnett Banks Inc., based in Jacksonville, Fla. The Glendale-based thrift said the sale remains subject to approval by regulators but should be completed by year’s end. The sale is part of Glenfed’s effort to boost its capital reserves and focus on its California lending operations.
