NEWBURY PARK : Panel Will Weigh Removal of 5 Oaks
- Share via
A proposal to uproot five oak trees on two acres of overgrown property near Haigh Road in Newbury Park to make way for a townhome development is expected to meet approval by the Thousand Oaks Planning Commission today.
The plan includes 13 three- and four-bedroom townhouses.
Residents of the surrounding neighborhood submitted a letter to the city saying they generally supported the project, but objected to placement of a proposed recreation area near adjacent homes.
If the project is approved, architect Frank Montesinos said construction would begin in August and take about one year.
The public hearing on the project is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 2400 Willow Lane, Thousand Oaks.
