*** Various artists, “The Crow” soundtrack, Atlantic. If the idea was to collect dark, menacing and/or raw mood pieces for the movie (the revenge fantasy during whose filming Brandon Lee was accidentally killed) then this is a rousing success. New tracks by Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine, Rollins Band, Helmet and Pantera all fit the bill immaculately, with an ethereal elegy from Jane Siberry providing a nice closing cap.
New albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
