The space shuttle Endeavour scanned Earth with powerful radar eyes for a fifth straight day, making pictures of ice floes, ocean currents, fault lines and even cities buried for centuries in sand. Endeavour was 138 miles high in the sky and circling the globe once every 89 minutes in pursuit of data on natural and human-induced environmental changes, NASA officials at the Kennedy Space Center said. During a pass over the Persian Gulf, the crew pointed the $384-million Space Radar Laboratory at southern Oman in hopes of imaging a lost city beneath the desert sands.
