Santa Clarita / Antelope Valley : Man Arrested in Fatal Stabbing
QUARTZ HILL — A man who police described as a transient was arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing a Quartz Hill man, authorities said Wednesday.
Richard Ellis, 48, charged in the attack that occurred at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, was being held without bail at the Antelope Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Police said Ellis approached Kenneth Wayne Vickers, 39, after he parked his truck in the 43200 block of 51st Street and the two men argued. The quarrel escalated into a fight that ended when Ellis stabbed Vickers several times with a utility knife, police said.
Vickers was taken to the Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center, where he later died.
