DUARTE UNIFIED: The district received two awards from the California Department of Education for its Dropout Prevention Program, which has reduced Duarte’s dropout rate from 58% to less than 5% during the past seven years. The awards were for Best Coordinated Districtwide Program in the State, and for Middle School of the Year, which went to Northview Intermediate School.
