LONG BEACH : $6.7 Million Allocated to Retrofit Freeway Structures

The California Transportation Commission allocated $6.7 million this week to seismically retrofit 13 freeway structures in Long Beach, including parts of the San Diego Freeway-Long Beach Freeway interchange. The work will begin in July.
The structures include: the Wardlow Road over-crossing and the Compton Creek Bridge on the Long Beach Freeway, the Bixby overhead and pedestrian crossing and three Los Angeles River bridges on the San Diego Freeway; the San Diego/Long Beach freeways separation; the south connector crossing, the southwest connector over-crossing and Appian Way off-ramp under-crossing on the San Diego Freeway, and the Artesia/Long Beach freeways separation.
