‘94 WINTER OLYMPICS / LILLEHAMMER : Notebook

LILLEHAMMER, Norway —  American Monique Pelletier, a slalom specialist with little experience in speed events, took her best shot in the downhill segment of the women’s combined.

She finished 24th.

“I don’t care,” the 24-year-old from Mt. Hood, Ore., said. “I’m down the mountain, that’s all that counts.”
