WESTMINSTER : Firefighter Files an Appeal on Dismissal
- Share via
Paul Gilbrook, the president of the firefighters’ union, has appealed his dismissal from the Fire Department, arguing that he has not violated any policy that could justify his firing.
Gilbrook, 37, filed his appeal Mondayto City Manager Jerry Kenny, who is expected to review the case this week.
After a closed-door hearing, Gilbrook was fired on Feb. 8 based on the findings of a city investigation that found Gilbrook allegedly drove a fire engine with a suspended driver’s license and allegedly used sick leave improperly.
But Gilbrook said that city officials failed to establish cause for his dismissal, and that he could present witnesses to refute the charges against him.
Gilbrook filed his appeal through his attorney, Alan C. Davis.
