Food 4 Less Reports Profit of $100,000

Food 4 Less Supermarkets Inc.: The La Habra chain of warehouse grocery stores reported a profit of $100,000 for its latest quarter. That contrasted with a loss of $10.4 million for the same period a year earlier. Sales for the company’s second fiscal quarter, which ended Jan. 8, were down 5% to $800 million from $845 million. The company attributed the revenue decline to continued weakness in the Southern California economy and competitive factors.
