The actions of Norwegian skiers who prevented Adolf Hitler from developing an atomic bomb will be chronicled in “Skis Against the Bomb” on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Mark Taper Auditorium of the Central Library, at 5th and Flower streets in Downtown Los Angeles.
The free lecture and slide show will be presented by Trond Woxen, a theater director, writer and former nuclear/biological/chemical warfare specialist in the Norwegian army.
Woxen will discuss the adventure of the team who skied to the remote Norsk Hydro Plant in Rjukan, Norway, and blew up the facility, being used by Hitler to develop an atomic bomb during World War II.
